Merryn Somerset Webb

Editor in chief of Moneyweek

Merryn Somerset Webb is Editor in chief of Moneyweek (www.moneyweek.com), the UK’s best selling financial magazine. She is also columnist for the Financial Times, Saga and Spectator Life, a non executive director of two investment trusts and a radio and TV columnist on all matters financial.

What were you like at school?

Always reading. At primary school they used to take my book away at break to make me play with the other kids.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how cool are you?

My daughter says 5. Which is generous of her.

What would you do with 15 mins of fame?

Make sure everyone understood compound interest.

What inspires you about this project?

The idea that it might help other kids be as absorbed in stories as I was (and still am).
