We’re Crowdfunding!

In 1713, Alexander Pope appealed to his fellow countrymen to share their wealth, through a crowd funding model.  He wanted to translate two ancient Greek poems, known as the Iliad and the Odyssey, which are credited to Homer and thought to be the foundational works of ancient Greek literature – documenting the history of the Trojan war and the events which shaped the countries identity.  Almost three centuries later, the rock band Marillion, raised $60,000 via an internet campaign to fund their U.S. tour, by asking fans to make online donations to the cause.  Good ideas stick around, even if it took until 2006 for it to officially be named ‘crowdfunding’.

Like Alexander Pope, we thinking writing is worth supporting.  That’s why we’ve launched our very first Crowdfunder campaign https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/super-power-agency-sc046550

Since 2016 we’ve worked in 25 primary and secondary schools across five local councils in Scotland, challenging young people to share their ideas, stories, poetry, lyrics, plays and best of all imagination, by putting their thoughts on paper.  Our creative workshops are designed to build confidence and our track record shows it works.  Now we need your help to keep investing in the next generation.

£10 buys a book of youth writing (you can see our current range of titles here)

£50 provides supplies for an eight-week workshop

£100 supports two young people through an entire workshop

£300 will pay for the print/production costs of the final publication from a workshop

The SPA is 100% reliant on donations. We hope you’ll help us by making a donation or sharing our crowdfunding link with your friends and family.  Every act will make a positive impact on the education and the future lives of the young people in Scotland.  Together we can do this.  Now is the time to write yourself into our story.
